Nothing in the world can get a man’s undivided attention more than a gorgeous woman.  Any expat living in China for more than a couple months knows how to say “Piao Lian”…a Chinese girl can hear that from any foreigner at the bar.  But wouldn’t it be infinitely more impressive for a local Chinese girl if she heard you say that she looked like sexy, enchanting stunner that made you drool with envy?  If you are a foreigner living in China, and you can learn the local Chinese slang that her parents still don’t know, it will make her laugh out loud and give you have a much better chance on landing that first date. 

All languages have their own set of insults and Chinese is no different.  My favorite Chinese put downs involve questioning the full functionality of the other person’s brain.  Brain insults in the Chinese language come in a wide variety.  You could tell your friends that they “were kicked in the brain by a donkey” or you could also suggest that that possibly they do silly things because their “brain has water in it” insult.  If you learn all the brain insults from this Chinese slang lesson, you will never be at a loss of words to accurately describe a complete moron using the Chinese language the way the same way the locals do it.  This is a skill that will come in handy for any foreigner living in China for any long period of time.

The Chinese words locals use to describe extra-marital affairs are of critical necessary for expats in relationships with Chinese girlfriends.  Not just when you are hanging out with your own girlfriend, but also when you’re out with all her other Chinese friends.  If your girlfriend and her friends are using the local slang, everyone will “know for sure” that her foreign boyfriend has no clue what they are talking about.  Most of the time they would be right, but after reading the Chinese Slang Blog you will know everything they are saying.  With your carefully practiced poker face, you can play stupid while her friends are carelessly divulging all their secret information or you can impress all her Chinese friends with your new Chinese slang knowledge that only a local should know.
