Egg insults are some of my favorite insults in the Chinese language. The literal translations of Chinese egg insults sound so funny when directly translated into English.  The most commonly used egg insults in Chinese include such original concepts as “Fool egg”, “Confused egg” or “Bad egg”.  If you’re really mad, and only if you’re really mad, then you can use the biggest egg insult of them.  You can shame your arch nemesis by calling them a “King eight egg” and making him lose face in front of all their friends because of your amazing Chinese slang skills.  Your Chinese buddies will never know what hit them, but all you needed to know could be found at the Chinese slang blog.

笨蛋-bèn dàn-Dummy, fool (Noun)

Literal Translation-Fool egg

他是个笨蛋，什么也学不会。

tā shì gè bèndàn，shénme yě xué bú huì。

He is stupid, he can’t learn anything.

坏蛋-huài dàn-Bad person, bad guy (Noun)

Literal Translation-Bad egg

不要相信他，他是个坏蛋。

búyào xiāngxìn tā，tā shì gè huàidàn。

Don’t trust him, he is a bad guy.

糊涂蛋-hú tú dàn-Confused/clueless person (Noun)

Literal Translation-Confused egg

那个糊涂蛋什么也弄不清楚。

nàgè hútúdàn shénme yě nòng bù qīngchǔ。

That airhead is always confused about everything

王八蛋-wáng bā dàn-Jerk, Scumbag (Noun)

Literal Translation-King eight egg

那个王八蛋向校长打了我的小报告。

nàgè wángbādàn xiàng xiàozhǎng dǎ le wǒde xiǎobàogào。

That jerk reported me to the principal.

混蛋-hùn dàn-Bad guy, jerk (Noun)

Literal Translation-Mix egg

他真是个混蛋，居然那样对待我的朋友。

tā zhēn shì gè hùndàn，jūrán nàyàng duìdài wǒde péngyǒu。

He is a bad guy for treating my friend that way.

龟儿子-guī ér zi-Jerk, scumbag (Noun)

Literal Translation-Tortoise son

那个龟儿子真没良心。

nàgè guīé zi zhēn méi liángxīn。

That scumbag has no heart.

滚蛋-gǔn dàn-Get lost! (Noun)

Literal Translation-Roll egg

滚蛋，你烦死了！

gǔndàn，nǐ fánsǐle！

Get lost! You are annoying the hell out of me.

穷光蛋-qióng guāng dàn-broke, a person without money (Noun)

Literal Translation-Poor light egg

那个穷光蛋居然想要我的电话号码…切！

nàgè qióngguāngdàn jūrán xiǎng yào wǒde diànhuà hàomǎ…qiè！

That broke guy tried to get my phone number…whatever!

捣蛋-dǎo dàn-To cause trouble (Verb)

Literal Translation-Smash egg

他在学校经常跟同学捣蛋。

tā zài xuéxiào jīngcháng gēn tóngxué dǎodàn。

He always causes trouble with his classmates at school.

完蛋-wán dàn-Completely finish something, game over (Verb)

Literal Translation-Finish egg

当我发现他对我不忠的时候，我和他就完蛋了。

dāng wǒ fāxiàn tā duì wǒ bùzhōng de shíhòu，wǒ hé tā jiù wándàn le。

I was finished with him after finding out he was cheating on me.

扯蛋-chě dàn-To talk nonsense (Verb)

Literal Translation-Pull egg

他对你的承诺纯属扯淡。

tā duì nǐ de chéngnuò chúnshǔ chědàn。

He was talking nonsense when he made you that promise.
