Most expats would also be at a loss of words on how to describe this sort of uncivilized behavior while using the Chinese language. 土-tǔ-Redneck, peasant, unsophisticated(Adj)
Literal Translation-Earth
停止你那么土的行为,这不是你乡下的村子。
tíngzhǐ nǐ nàme tǔ de xíngwéi,zhè bú shì nǐ xiāngxià de cūnzi。
Stop with that peasant behavior. This isn’t your village in the countryside.
农民-nóng mín-Peasant, farmer (Noun)
那些农民总是在公园小便。
nàxiē nóngmín zǒngshì zài gōngyuán xiǎobiàn。
Those peasants are always urinating in the park.
粗鲁-cū lǔ-Rude (Adj)
你妈妈没教你盯着别人看是很粗鲁的吗?
nǐ māmā méi jiāo nǐ dīngzhe biérén kàn shì hěn cūlǔ de ma?
Didn’t your mother teach you that staring at people is rude?
没礼貌-méi lǐ mào-Impolite (Adj)
小孩在超市门口大小便是对其他顾客不礼貌的行为。
xiǎohái zài chāoshì ménkǒu dàxiǎobiàn shì duì qítā gùkè bùlǐmào de xíngwéi。
Babies excrementing outside the supermarket is impolite to the other customers.
不讲文明-bù jiǎng wén míng-Uncivilized (Verb)
Literal Translation-No talk civilized
他很不讲文明,因为他是从乡下来的。
tā hěn bùjiǎngwénmíng,yīnwèi tā shì cóng xiāngxià lái de。
He is very uncivilized because he comes from the countryside.
没素质-méi sù zhì-No manners or class, uncivilized (Adj)
Literal Translation-No quality
为什么你总是表现的像个土包子? 真没素质。
wèishénme nǐ zǒngshì biǎoxiàn de xiàng gè tǔbāozi?zhēn méisùzhì。
Why do you always act like a country bumpkin? You really have no class.
没家教-méi jiā jiào-Your family didn’t teach you well (Adj)
Literal Translation-No home teach
你怎么这么没家教,在地铁里挖鼻屎。
nǐ zěnme zhème méijiājiào,zài dìtiě lǐ wābíshǐ。
It is obvious that your family didn’t teach you well. You are picking your nose on the subway.
挖鼻屎-wā bí shǐ-Picking your nose (Verb)
Literal Translation-Dig nose shit
在别人面前挖鼻屎然后吃掉是很粗鲁的行为。
zài biérén miànqián wābíshǐ ránhòu chīdiào shì hěn cūlǔ de xíngwéi。
Picking your nose and eating it in front of others is rude behavior.
喧哗-xuān huá-Talk loudly in public (Verb)
你为什么在电梯里大声喧哗?大家彼此站得都很近。
nǐ wèishénme zài diàntī lǐ dàshēng xuānhuá?dàjiā bǐcǐ zhàn de dōu hěn jìn。
Why do you talk so loud in the elevator? We are standing right next to each other.
插队-chā duì-Cut in line (Verb)
Literal Translation-Insert line
我最受不了别人在地铁站插队。
wǒ zuì shòubùliǎo biérén zài dìtiězhàn chāduì。
I can’t stand it when people cut in line in the subway.
随地吐痰-suí dì tǔ tán-Spit everywhere (Verb)
Literal Translation-Follow floor spit
不要像个刚从乡下来的土包子一样随地吐痰。
búyào xiàng gè gāng cóng xiāngxià lái de tǔbāozi yíyàng suídìtǔtán。
Don’t spit everywhere like a country bumpkin that just came from the countryside.
随地大小便-suí dì dà xiǎo biàn-Pee everywhere (Verb)
Literal Translation-Follow floor big small convenient
在街上随地大小便很不文明。
zài jiēshàng suídìdàxiǎobiàn hěn bù wénmíng。
Taking a piss in the street isn’t very civilized.
盯着-dīng zhe-Stare at people (Verb)
别盯着我看!
bié dīngzhe wǒ kàn!
Stop staring at me!
很臭的人-hěn chòu de rén-Smelly person
坐在一个很臭的人旁边让我觉得恶心。
zuò zài yígè hěn chòu de rén pángbiān ràng wǒ juéde ěxīn。
It makes me sick when I sit beside a smelly person.
